sheesh

Less than 24 hours after restarting and already there’s comment spam. I guess I shouldn’t really be surprised…

  1. Amazing — I get very little on mine. I’ve also got it set up to manually approve comments, which certainly discourages folks.

I’m not sure what the attraction is, but at one point before everything crashed I was getting easily a dozen spams a day.
Have you all recovered from the Olympics yet? I don’t care what anybody says- I liked the immense inflatable beavers at the closing ceremony. ; )

  3. I personally didn’t mind the beavers, but the overwhelming low-level of stereotypes got tiresome rather quickly.

That being said, I never, ever, got tired of hearing folks sing “O Canada”…. ;-)

Our Lead Graffiti blog uses Akismet to sort out spam. I think this is just a WordPress plug-in.

To date it says it has caught 5,400+ of them. We don’t get many comments, but the good ones seem to get through. It will put ones it things are spam for all kinds of drugs in a queue. I think it deletes them automatically after 15 days if I haven’t marked them to delete.

    Might be worth investigating.

Hi Ray; it’s good to hear from you. Thanks for the suggestion; I”ve just reactivated Aksimet, so I’ll see how it goes from now on.

I hope all’s well with you and that you’re keeping busy.
