Less than 24 hours after restarting and already there’s comment spam. I guess I shouldn’t really be surprised…

I’m not sure what the attraction is, but at one point before everything crashed I was getting easily a dozen spams a day.
Have you all recovered from the Olympics yet? I don’t care what anybody says- I liked the immense inflatable beavers at the closing ceremony. ; )
Our Lead Graffiti blog uses Akismet to sort out spam. I think this is just a WordPress plug-in.
To date it says it has caught 5,400+ of them. We don’t get many comments, but the good ones seem to get through. It will put ones it things are spam for all kinds of drugs in a queue. I think it deletes them automatically after 15 days if I haven’t marked them to delete.
Amazing — I get very little on mine. I’ve also got it set up to manually approve comments, which certainly discourages folks.

I personally didn’t mind the beavers, but the overwhelming low-level of stereotypes got tiresome rather quickly.
That being said, I never, ever, got tired of hearing folks sing “O Canada”….

Hi Ray; it’s good to hear from you. Thanks for the suggestion; I”ve just reactivated Aksimet, so I’ll see how it goes from now on.
