This class will present a slightly different proceedure for edge gilding than is normally presented. This technique makes it easier for the occasional gilder to achieve an acceptable result. Both rough and solid gilding will be covered. If time allows, other edge treatments will be addressed such as coloring, colored and tooled edges and graphite edges.

Students should bring one or two unsewn textblocks or sets of blank folios; gold leaf (not patent gold which is attached to the supporting tissue); hand tools; apron and notebook. Gold cushions, gold knives and burnishers will be available for use, but if students have any of these please bring them. If you have questions please contact us.

Dates: Saturday June 28 - Sunday June 29. If you are staying at the school please come late Sunday afternoon to get settled in.

Class status: 5 spaces available as of 12/29/07.
